5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhittier is a wonderful place for kids and parents of all backgrounds! Parents and teachers work together to help guide their children through the awkward social years typical of this age group. I think it's great that they take advantage of the advanced classes offered, the connection with OU, Moore Norman Technology Center, and other local community resources like School Bell, etc. I appreciate this great school, how hard the teachers are working for our kids, and that you can communicate with the administration when you have a concern giving them a chance to intervene. My son had a great experience there, he was part of the band program, loved many of his teachers, and had good friends that lasted all through his high school years. He was well prepared for high school and then excelled at OU. My only criticism was that kids would misbehave on the bus sometimes, not a new problem!Parent Review1y ago - Norman North High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a sophomore at Norman North and I honestly hate this school so much because of everything that I've dealt with, if I could give 0 stars, I will, first of all, I had a teacher in the 9th grade that was seriously entitled and disrespectful (she was my English teacher), I had unfair lunch detentions because of her, and don’t get me started on the principals, one of them, Ann Blatt, is the most entitled of them all, she gets angry over everything, I have a friend there who was a senior there this year, who went a little too fast in the parking lot, and she was FURIOUS over that, like come on, he didn’t mean to go a little fast, and now he dropped out and got a GED because he couldn’t take it anymore, and honestly, I agree with him, if I were old enough to, I'd drop out immediately, this school is the worst school that I've ever been to in my 16 years of life, I recommend for parents to not let their kids to that school at all.Student Review1y ago - Truman Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI couldn't ask for a better school, better staff or better administration. I was warned about this school before my daughter started there because it was so large but I can tell you as a substitute teacher there and as a parent, the school is a wonderful place for my daughter to get her education. Teachers and admin don't get enough credit for all they do, at this school and at others.Parent Review5y ago - Dimensions Academy

"There are a few dog parks. However, small dogs cannot really be contained by the fencing. There are large gaps that allow yhem to slip out. Most of the owners are conscientious and they keep their dogs leashed. Our dogs have not encountered any aggressive dogs here. "

"Norman has public transportation that operates on a set schedule with many convenient stops throughout town. The only problem is if you live in an outlying area, like I do, where the nearest pick up location is about 3 miles away. I commute to OKC everyday, takes about 25 minutes in morning traffic."
